Children learn most effectively
through first-hand experience,
and visits beyond the school
premises provide some of the
most memorable learning experiences.
St Nicholas uses off-site
visits throughout the school,
starting with short walks
to the high street and local
surroundings in Early Years
and extending as far as France
in Year 6.
The costs of many off-site
visits can only be met if
parents can meet some of the
costs for their own children.
However, the school works
hard to make sure that all
the children can go on external
visits wherever possible by
maintaining a small fund to
help children whose parents
are unable to contribute.
Details of visits, which in
some years include residential
visits, are sent to parents
well in advance.
