About St Nicholas
School
|
| School meals |
| Lunchtime arrangements |
|
School meals are provided and encouraged. Children
may bring packed lunches
as an alternative to the meal
provided, or a regular packed
lunch prepared by the kitchen
may be purchased. Currently,
no children go home for lunch.
If any parents wish to change
from one system to another,
it would be appreciated if
they could give us one week's
notice.

|
| Drinks during the day |
| We encourage older
children to carry a suitable water
bottle in to school to so that
they can take quick drinks of
water during lessons or on visits.

|
| Snacks and packed lunches
|
| Through a Government initiative, a piece of fresh fruit
is provided at morning break for
all children in Key Stage 1 classes.
Other children may bring fresh
fruit to eat in the morning break,
but not sweets or other snacks.
Milk is available, at a cost to
parents, for children in the Reception
classes, through the ‘Cool Milk’ scheme.
Fizzy drinks and sweets should
not be included in packed lunches from
home. . |

|
| Paying for school meals |
|
School meal charges are usually
set at the beginning of the
school year. Information regarding
payment for each half-term
period is published in SNS
News.
If paying weekly, money should
be brought to school on a
Monday morning and given to
the class teacher in a sealed
envelope and clearly marked
with the child's name and
class.
Cheques should be
made payable to 'SURREY COUNTY
COUNCIL'. Refunds will be
given for any meals not taken due to absence. It is now possible
to pay for meals on-line.
